Winter is…
a season of rest
renewal
slower days
shorter days
a time to BE PRESENT!
Ahhhh, winter…
Winter is a season of rest and renewal. The beauty of these slower and shorter days is often overlooked, offering us a chance to be present and truly enjoy all that this season brings. However, the reduced daylight and colder weather might also lead some of us to experience seasonal affective disorder (SAD). This can make our mood and energy levels drop.
But fear not! There are natural ways to support your well-being during this time.
I don’t know if you like snow….but I LOVE it. It is fresh, cleansing, slows down my soul, and is relaxing on such a deeper level that I can’t explain with words. Whether you love or hate snow, it reminds me to slow down and clean out the old to make room for the new.
Integrating some simple practices and essential oils into your daily routine can help uplift your spirits and bring a sense of calm and warmth to your winter days. Oils such as Lavender, known for its soothing properties, and Lemon, with its refreshing scent, can be perfect companions to help combat the winter blues.
Winter is also a great time to detox, focus on healthy emotions, and strengthen the immune system. These things will prepare you for spring and the new growth coming.
My 3 best strategies to beat the winter blues are:
❄️ Detox Bath! Probably my favorite. Check out the detox bath recipes in the Winter Guide for healthy emotions and an improved immune system.
❄️ Having a winter survival kit ready to go! Keeping our body strong and resilient during flu and cough season is possible. Some of my non-negotiables are Inner Defence and Thieves essential oil. When we need the BIG GUNS...I get my Raindrop Collection out!
❄️ Taking time for self-reflection. This season is a great time to evaluate your lifestyle regarding wellness. A couple drops of a calming oil (like Sacred Mountain, Joy or Winter Nights) in a quiet room with time to journal and/or reflect on the past and make plans/goals for the new season provides a mental break and helps you prepare for a more balanced and fulfilling journey ahead.
Winter is a joyful season of rest and renewal, with slower, shorter days that invite us to truly BE PRESENT! Let each moment of stillness be a step towards deeper peace and rejuvenation.
