The Body Signals Journal:A Simple Tool to Start Listening to Your Body

Have you ever felt like your body is trying to tell you something… but you're not quite sure what?

Maybe you're dealing with brain fog, weird cravings, low energy, or emotional swings that don’t seem to make sense. And maybe, like so many of us, you’ve learned to ignore or power through it—because that’s what we were taught to do.

But here’s the truth:
  • Your body is always speaking.
  • We just have to slow down enough to listen.
I developed a pattern when my children were young to question them regarding their health. When a complaint began, there were often questions regarding what they had done different, and what had they done to solve the issue.  This created an open dialogue to discuss health (physical and/or mental), which eventually brought them a greater awareness of their wellness patterns, as well as a natural inclination to take charge of their health from a younger age than usual.  

A Simple Place to Start: 

This isn’t complicated. You don’t need a fancy app or expensive tracker. Just a notebook, a pen, and 3-5 minutes a day.
For the next few days, try jotting down:
  • How you slept - maybe include how many hours (at least 7 hours is ideal)
  • Your energy levels throughout the day (any slumps or highs)
  • Any cravings (sweet, salty, caffeine, etc.)
  • Your mood or emotions 
  • Anything that felt "off" or different in your body
That’s it.
You don’t need to analyze or judge it at first — just notice.

Why It Matters

When you write these little things down, patterns start to emerge.
You might realize that certain foods drain your energy… or that poor sleep is the real trigger behind your cravings.
This kind of journaling helps you move from reacting to responding—with awareness, compassion, and clarity.

It’s not about perfection. 
It’s about starting to tune in.
And when you do, you begin to make small, empowered shifts that lead to real change.

It took a long time to start a family but once we did I knew that’s what I was supposed to do! I love my kids and wanted the best for them. Sadly, life wasn’t perfect and they were sick way too often! Stress, fears, gene mess-ups, and low immunity ruled our lives and I came to a place where I was just DONE!  It’s hard to look back and even think about where we were!   

Honestly, I was sick and tired of everyone being sick and tired. I was drained. More than that…I believed I was failing everyone around me, and the pressure and unknowns took me to disturbing, hard places. This is not a good place to be as a mom at any time!  Not having hope or peace in that situation made it hard for me to function!  

I was searching for a new normal and found it! A friend of mine was doing her own natural journey and had done lots of research.  She shared what she was doing! At this point, I had nothing to lose and started my own journey!  It didn’t take long before I realized we were less stressed and I had ways to support my kid’s health through natural means!  
 
I don’t even want to imagine where our lives would be if I had not taken this step of faith! Literally!  

Now? We have hope! I also have confidence that my kids can experience their best life!  I’m on a mission to lead others to that same freedom that we have experienced.  You can have better and you deserve the best!
